Lastly backing Star Citizen and funding the project isn't something only Reserve to a select few. You're not going to see anyone take a hammerhead out on their own. Many of the big large ships are absolutely terrible unless you have multiple people with you to multi crew a vessel. Secondly Star Citizen isn't a game where you unlock a certain item and you are overpowered. I think it only fair that for our loyalty towards the project and for allowing the game to be created we should be able to keep the purchases we made.
We the backers are the ones who make this game possible.
Unlike a game such as Apex which had all the money and tools needed to build a game from day one Star Citizen needed its backers funds to create the game. Yes, however Star Citizen is different from other games. In the age where the average human being has the attention span of a Tik Tok video, who would want to do all this mundane investigation? So much easier to just yell 'scam!' and be able to sound edgy with almost zero effort. But to achieve that level of understanding, one would be required to study about the history of SC/SQ42 development going all the way back to 2011, various reddit posts and youtube video commentaries from different sources, playing past games from the 90's that CR made, watching various youtube segments of SC and literature, and most importantly, play test the alphas periodically. Clearly this is not the case for SC.Ī more informed and educated critic would say that the SC project is poorly managed and executed from day one and backer's money are not being efficiently spent while the PR/marketing department is several shades of grey when it comes to morality, which is much closer to the truth (though not 100% truth). In more extreme case the founders just disappeared and went into hiding. The product never got to the point of looking anything like the promo videos, and some are not even playable for the backers. Most of these managed to swindle single digit millions of dollars. To be fair, there are a ton of kickstarter scams out there. See how this guy put Star Citizen in the #1 scam ranking: The other half doesn't understand the difference between slow development pace and scam. I suspect half of the people saying this are just a bunch of teenagers/manchild trying to sound 'edgy'.
